Al Shalan Rice

  • Best Of The Best

Whether dining at home, or at a restaurant, rice is both deliciously tasty as well as fulfilling.
Prior to cooking it, any rice grain is deceptively similar to another, with only the experts in the field being able to assess the quality and grade. The variety of rice in the market resemble one another, in terms of look and length, that may reach 5 mm prior to cooking. However, it is the texture and length of the grain after cooking that determines the uniqueness of the rice, as the grains may reach 10 mm and more.
rice is a very high-quality Indian basmati rice grain, the result of which made it a trustworthy name not only in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arabian Gulf, but well beyond into the Middle East and internationally.

  • Quality Standards

rice has stood out, time and time again versus other brands, without losing its competitive edge, as a result of the highest quality standards that we enforce within the rice milling process, that are in line with the international requirements of rice production.
The milling process is extremely crucial, as it determines the outcome of the final rice grain; it is so important that we treat every single rice grain as a standalone product, thus ensuring that the quality control process takes into consideration that each and every rice grain will come out as per the required standards set by us. So, from the farm all the way to the dinner table, we ensure that the rice that our customers receive adhere to the highest of standards.
An additional important factor of the milling process is that we went to great lengths to make sure that from the time that the rice enters the mill to the stage where it is finally packed, the rice grains are not physically touched or handled in any way whatsoever – the whole process is fully automated. And, although this factor alone was extremely costly and at some point, very difficult to achieve, yet we were committed to implement it in order to retain the unique flavor and quality of the grain.
The final packed rice is then loaded and shipped using the most advanced techniques, ensuring a safe and hygienic journey to the point of destination, where it is stored in depots of the highest quality standards, with adequate ventilation.

  • Rice Depots

rice originates from the vast rice farms of the Indian subcontinent and is irrigated by pure rainwater and rivers flowing naturally and consistently from the Himalayas. After being harvested, the rice is milled through a unique and modern process and is sorted rice grain by grain. Thereafter, it is packed and sent to the company’s depots where it is adequately aged and stored until it reaches our dinner table. Our large depots have special ventilation. We also make sure the stored rice sacs do not touch any of the depots’ walls, whereby they are laid out in stacks, ensuring that there is adequate space between them in order that the rice retains its quality.
