Our Speech

  • Message from the Chairman

We are extremely proud to have become a major supplier of basmati rice, a food staple that has become a key feature of our society across generations, and synonymous with our social identity. We at Abdulrahman & Mohammed Al Abdulaziz Al Shalan Company believe that our responsibility goes far beyond supplying quality products to the local and regional markets; in fact, we play a major role in the everyday life of the Saudi family. For decades, basmati rice has been the main staple of the Saudi dinner table, around which Saudi families gather every single day; and, amongst the multitude of brands of basmati rice, rice has been privileged to have gained the consumer’s trust and total satisfaction.
Our strong bond with the Saudi family is not the result of chance or simple product familiarity, but rather the result of continuous hard work, perseverance and the maintaining of the high quality of our products; this our main goal and the essence of our hard work - to be worthy and gain the trust of our beloved customers.
Today we celebrate our on-going commitment and the achievements that we have made. Still, our future aspirations are far beyond that what we have achieved. What we seek is far beyond what we have achieved because we believe that our society always deserves the best, and we are committed to provide it with nothing but the best.

  • The story of two brothers and a company

The brothers Abdulrahman and Mohammed Al Abdulaziz Al Shalan lost their father at an early age and were soon fending for themselves, securing income for their family. By 1951, they had established a family company for importing foodstuff. Sheikh Abdulrahman Al Abdulaziz Al Shalan passed away (may Allah have mercy on his soul) in 1416 AH after a long and successful career. Thereafter, his brother and life-long companion, Sheikh Mohammed Al Abdulaziz Al Shalan carried on the responsibility of their success, both, as Chairman of the Board and Director General. In 1438 AH, Sheikh Mohammed Al Abdulaziz Al Shalan passed away (may Allah have mercy on his soul), to be succeeded by his son, Sheikh Mishal Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Shalan.
Now, 70 years on, we are proud to continue carrying the precious family values that the company was founded upon and capitalize on the success that we have been endowed with. It is with these values that the second generation will continue to lead the company, whilst embracing the latest tools and technologies that will enable it to carry on with the torch of success.
